A busy week

This month we had a lot of make up shows and I was showing almost 2 days a week in San Francisco. I will be out of town with limited internet and phone access until next weekend August 6th, so I am not sure if I will have any posts this coming up week. I am posting some of the happy collectors of this month and their new paintings here.

When I watch Musicians play I get a sense of them going into another world . I think we join them there while they are playing. I certainly do and it makes me want to dance.

I painted these two paintings in honor of Cats and Dogs. I used to make a lot of Cat and Dog pins and I  miss making them sometimes. These are a good compromise I find. Small paintings with fine details. Richard Unger my hand Analysis Teacher says Big Hands like small details. I have big hands. I will use feline form from "Shadow Friend" for more cat paintings. It is a shape I designed originally for pins.

This painting has a two obvious symbols showing. Saturn and a guitar.

Saturn stands for structure, accountability and having ones ducks in a row.

The guitar stands for creativity. It is interesting how we need a certain amount of Saturn qualities to really get good at and have fun with our art. And how dull would Saturn type behaviors be without creativity involved? I called this painting life decisions because it can be difficult to choose a creative life over one that has more conventional security-security is another good Saturn word. I derive the meanings of Saturn from my many years of studies of Hand Analysis. 

And here is the proud owner of these two paintings, he bought them in Union Square, San Francisco at an Artists' Guild of San Francisco Show on July 14.

As a girl growing up in Long Beach California I wanted a horse. I got a chance in high school to spend a summer in St. Louis working in a Stable, learning to ride, going with the owner to buy new horses, and mucking out the stables. I loved it and realized how much time it took to own a horse. It cured me of wanting to own a horse. I guess I would rather be painting, but I still love them!
