More Musical Squares

It has been a busy summer with deck repairs, residing painting, lots of art shows and working on the Artists' Guild of San Francisco's upcoming 50th year anniversary. I am managing to do a few paintings and these are the two newest of the music series. Both 6x6x1.5 inches. Fun to hold and look at with lots of detail. I will be working on some larger paintings for a few weeks, but hope to fit in a few small ones.

This painting makes me think of some of the components of music making: 

The various personalities involved from the musician to the spirits of music. 

Musical Instruments "playing off" of one another.

The individual personalities of the instruments themselves. 

A magical realm that leads to unexpected doorways.
